David Prichard
CEO
David serves as CEO of Denver Angels to do his part in fueling Colorado's innovation economy and empower entrepreneurs by connecting experienced capital with growing companies. A serial entrepreneur, David can relate to the needs that entrepreneurs have. He has founded, served on the board for, and invested in a variety of successful ventures and prides himself on bringing solutions to the table that effectively connect people and resources as they work to turn ideas into reality.

Blair Simpson
Principal, Head of Diligence
As Principal, Head of Diligence at Denver Angels, Blair leads analysis for investment opportunities in early-stage technology companies across industries. Blair previously served as Principal at Frontier Venture Capital in Boulder, Colorado, where he led investments in B2B tech startups such as HData (Data Intelligence), Project Canary (Energy/Climate), Qualiti AI (DevOps), and Fathom (Generative AI/ML).
Prior to Frontier, Blair served as a Venture Associate with The Fund Rockies, leading due diligence for investments in Pre-Seed companies headquartered in the Mountain West. Blair earned his MBA from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021 and was recognized as the MBA Finance Student of the Year.

Amy Brandenburg
Director
Amy is a connector and community leader with a passion for economic growth in Denver. Amy's been running Angel groups for 10+ years, starting in college as an associate for Baylor Angels. Her experience includes investor relations at a hedge fund focusing on small to mid-cap companies, business development at a technology unicorn, and building out the entrepreneurial hub, the Commons on Champa here in Denver.

Kyle Williams
Director
Kyle has a passion for people and technology. Volunteering his time where he can with community outreach as well as assisting non-profits with tech efforts. When he’s not growing his personal real estate portfolio with affordable housing projects, you can find Kyle helping small to medium sized businesses across the US automate and grow in their internal technology processes.

Kenneth Monfort
Chairman
Kenneth Monfort is the owner and EVP of Monfort Companies, which invests in ventures and develops commercial properties in the Colorado region. He began his career working on projects in rural communities, and in 2017 started expanding the company’s portfolio to include properties near Coors Field to create a world-class stadium district. He currently serves on several local and national boards and committees, viewable via LinkedIn.

Kalen Acquisto
Director
Kalen is an entrepreneurial community builder and a natural connector with a deep passion for sustainable economic growth in her hometown of Denver. Kalen has supported entrepreneurs and economic development efforts for over a decade by directing The Commons on Champa, working as a Program Manager at El Pomar Foundation, and running a startup in New Zealand for a few years. Kalen also is the founder of Kalen Jesse Photography and specializes in business and personal branding photography.

Ankur Kanotra
Principal, Head of IR & Marketing
Ankur currently leads the Investor Relations and Marketing functions at Denver Angels. His background spans from early stage investments to hedge funds.
Prior to joining Denver Angels, Ankur worked on the Investor Relations and Fundraising teams at Blackstone, Raine, and Coatue Management in New York City. He studied Finance and earned his B.B.A. from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University.

Julian Busch
Director
Julian is an experienced grower of communities and builder of innovative products with a track record of success throughout his various roles in sales, angel investing, and corporate innovation. Julian moved to Denver in 2019 and is excited to invest in and help the local Colorado startup ecosystem as he believes startups are the leaders in economical and social change.

Zachary May
Vice-Chairman
Zachary May grew up in Littleton, Colorado, where he owns and operates La Vaca Trading. La Vaca Trading is a commodity brokerage that specializes in agricultural risk management for producers of livestock and grain. When Zach is not trading, he enjoys diversifying his personal portfolio by investing in business ventures, feeding cattle, and developing real estate.

Jackson Killion
General Counsel
Jackson Killion grew up in Illinois and spent time in St. Louis and the Ozarks before moving to Colorado. Jackson counsels early-stage companies, accelerators, and VC firms located primarily in the Front Range to drive growth and innovation in the state. In his free time, Jackson enjoys golfing and fishing.

Colorado Startups provides a starting place and a growing place for entrepreneurs building the next generation of BIG companies here in Colorado. The community provides two support areas: Connections and Capital to help entrepreneurs ranging from first-time founders to seasoned executives.
